About Birthday Backup
Birthday Backup exists because remembering birthdays is easy to intend and hard to do. Somewhere between school pickup, work and everything else, the date arrives and you are standing in a shopping centre at 5pm buying something beige.
We built Birthday Backup in Victoria, Australia in 2026 to fix that in the simplest way possible. You add the people you buy for, tell us a little about them, and 14 days before each birthday we email you three gift ideas chosen for that person, their age, their interests and your budget. No app to download, no password to remember, no feed to scroll.
How our recommendations work
Our gift suggestions are generated using AI, guided by what you tell us about each person: their interests, style and your budget. They are starting points chosen to save you thinking time, not sponsored placements. No retailer pays us to be recommended.
How we keep it free
Birthday Backup is free for up to five people. Some of the links in our emails and gift guides are affiliate links, which means if you buy something we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That commission, along with our Pro plan, is what keeps the free tier free. Our recommendations are never influenced by commission rates.
